Teletext

My sister has a Sony Plasma TV maybe size 40" - she bought it a year before I bought mine.

When I go to BBC1 and press TEXT and get text news etc.

She cannot get it. Anybody know - her TV is only about 4-5 years old mine would be 4. TIA

Do you both have the same TV signal supplier, be it Cable or Satellite?

When you say Teletext are you actually referring to subtitles?

she can get subtitles as can I - no - if you go to BBC1 - you do have to press text button numerous times then a side panel of information comes up on the right.

by the way we have both have Freeview

That's what I get for pressing the TEXT button, conne. That's all you get now. No Teletext.

The BBC Teletext service was discontinued in 2012. To get the digital replacement service, press the red button on your remote.

If all else fails tell her to try re-tuning the TV and see if that helps.
