Sad to hear about the passing of Ken Norton, one of the boxing greats. Haven't had the chance to comment today till now. I remember he was attending a boxing dinner in New York and was sat next to that great boxing commentator, Reg Gutteridge. Norton said to Reg at the time that Britain couldn't produce a heavyweight champion because the British weren't tough enough. Reg said, is that right? Well, I'll show you how tough we are. He then took a fork off the table, and to Nortons' horror,Reg rammed it into in his own thigh. What Norton didn't know was that Reg Gutteridge had a wooden leg as a result of a WW2 injury in the RAF. Classic eh?
