my daughter is fourteen and six months pregnant shes due in june does the father of the baby need to be presant in the hospital to put his name on birth cert, or can daughter put his name

Yes, he has to be there to register the birth & be put on the birth certificate. I am not sure if the parental responsibilty law has changed yet, but according to the law when I registered our last baby (we weren't married at the time) being on the birth certificate didn't automatically give the father parental responsibility ~ he has to be married for that honor, or go to court to apply.
I do hope the law has changed ~ just going to try & find out ~ good luck to your daughter.
Hi yeah, he does need to be present, however I don't know what sort of relationship you or your daughter have with the baby's father, but it might be worth noting that since sex with a girl of 14 is illegal here, his name on a birth certificate might be used against him by the Police should there ever be a prosecution on the matter, so give it some thought before you rush in. He can add his name at a later date if that's a possibility.Good luck to you all:)
