I can't believe what just happened.

I missed a call from what at the time was an unknown number. I then spoke to the unknown number an hour later and it's an agency re: flt work.

They were originally ringing me to offer me a job that starts at 11am this morning. The miss call was at 10:26.

They have filled the position :( How unlucky can I be.

Oh well.

Bloody diz, that is bad luck, have you asked them if they have anything for tomorrow ?.
Oh Diz , what a pain - gosh that is short notice isn't it. Hopefully another position will arise soon.

They have noted down on their system that I'm still looking for work so I've got my phone welded to my head waiting for a phone call. It is late notice lol. Even if I had answered I don't think I could of got there for 11 even in a car.
Something will come up again soon diz, keep your phone on you at all times! lol xx
Oh Diz, what a shame. I hope they call again, and soon, with another job offer. xx
How can you call someone half an hour before the call is due to start? At least they are actively looking for something for you and hopefully they will call you again soon.
Thats really unlucky Diz, maybe it just wasn't meant to be, maybe there is something better coming along for you.
Turn that frown upside down hon :-)

grasscarp: It's an agency. The chances are the client had someone working for them (that person going through an agency) that didn't turn up for work. The problem with agency work is that some people start a job and either don't like it, can't be bothered with it or the company doesn't like them. I once did 2 fulls days with a gardener through an agency and he was well impressed. 20 minutes before my 'shift' started the following day I received a phone call from the agency saying "don't bother coming in". The reason: I didn't hold a driving licence. I did tell them this before I even started work, it was clearly overlooked.

He wanted to take me on full time but because I couldn't drive I wouldn't be able to nip out and pick up supplies such as turf, tools and snap.
Diz, don't feel disappointed. What's meant for you, you'll have it.
And you know the saying, all disappointment is not bad luck. I know how much you need and want a job, you'll get one soon enough. Best wishes.
Hey, if it wasn't meant to be, then it wasn't meant to be.

Turn that frown upside down, you have mail :-)
