The lad (9 years) next door has taken up playing an instrument. I am as yet unclear as to what it might be, it sounds like granny sitting on an elephant and the varying degrees of discomfort between them . At least he is getting some kind of sound from whatever it is, I doubt I could !

' fluff , long drawn out achy kind of sound. Starts high, gets lower as he runs out of wind.
Bookbinder, I agree, it just a noise without the accompanying music. Not a very nice noise either.
Give them a ring and say you're worried their cat might need a vet's appointment ;-)
Oh dear! Luckily no children, let alone with instruments, either side of me though both sides seem to like their DIY, lots of power tool kind of sounds going on a lot, I do wonder they must eventually run out of things to drill, hammer etc... I'm very lucky with my neighbours though, they are all very nice.
...how apt, drilling noises have just started! :)
Drummers are guys, usually, who like to hang around with musicians.
