So i thought i was about 8 yesterday had a go on my nephews scooter and went flying into a lamppost. I now have a black eye, im going out for a family meal later and would like it to be less noticeable any tips on how to cover it?. I dont normally wear a lot of make up so only have the basic foundation a bit of powder, a few eye shadows of pink/brown colours mascara and thats about it !

You'll probably need something thicker than normal foundation like a concealer, it depends how dark the bruise is. If the bruise is purple then something with a yellowy tone will help to neutralise it. Be careful though as by trying to disguise it you could end up making more noticeable by caking yourself in makeup.

Thanks Ratty. Its a red colour and mainly on the eyelid and a little on the browbone
If it's family they will understand what you caused it. I would leave it if I were you. It must be painful still.

It is tender Tilly . My family would be fine but i would like it to be less noticeable as i am out in a public place.
If it's very red then you can get green foundation/concealer which will help to cover it. If you can get to a large Boots store it might be an idea to talk to the make up counter girls, you might even get a free makeover for your trouble.
It sounds like you could disguise it quite well with foundation all over and brown eye shadow on the lids, plus some mascara.
