Having posted the above re the UK, it occurs to me that the British Isles also includes Eire, so I guess the River Shannon should be in there somewhere! Just get rid of the shortest of the ones listed and add it
Longest rivers in the United Kingdom
River Length (miles) (km)
River Severn 220 354
River Thames 215 346
River Trent 185 297
River Aire 161 259
River Great Ouse 143 230
River Wye 135 215
River Tay 117 188
River Spey 107 172
River Nene 100 161
River Clyde 98 158
River Tweed 96 155
River Eden, Cumbria 90 145
River Dee, Aberdeenshire 85 137
River Avon, Warwickshire 84 136
River Don, Aberdeenshire 80 129
River Bann 76 122
River Ribble 75 120
River Tyne 73 118
River Tees 70 113
River Dee, Wales 70 112
The Shannon is 230 miles (370km) long, so clearly it is the longest river in the British Isles. (Are you sure, though, that you really mean "the British Isles", Whiskywell?)
