Well, I'm a lifetime member of the National Trust but I wont be visiting this house!

all the same, it's worth remembering that Big Brother wasn't invented here, it was Dutch.

Yes it was. That is precisely the point.

Not only had no one produced a 24/7, enforced, hidden camera programme

But many commentators predicted it wouldn't work e.g. people would freeze, be too self conscious, walk out etc

Or that it would be too boring to attract audiences - well that was proven wrong for at least the first 8-10 years
