What Would You Do
7 Answers
I spoke to, then emailed an owner of apartments in Greece where I stayed a short while ago, asking price of same apartment for 2014 which he emailed me.
Since then I have found the same apartments on a travel firms web site for £100 cheaper than he wanted. which I have booked.
He was a very good host, Nothing was too much trouble for him or his mother and brother.
What would be the right thing to do. Mail him and decline paying him direct stating I found his price to much for me. Decline and say I have found it cheaper elsewhere Say nothing just turn up next year.TIA

If they are both owned by him then I would email him saying that you have found one of his apartments for rent at a lower price and ask if there has maybe made a mistake in the pricing?
Business is business, just as we tell companies here that we've found a better price online, tell him the same about the travel firm.
Explain that you are on a limited budget and the extra £100 goes toward your spending money. If you say nothing and just turn up, I think you might be anxious about it and not as relaxed as you want to be on holiday. Say something now and remember that you ar the customer.
