£50 People Crossword Mistake!

Hi crossie folks.

Well, this week The People certainly HAVE made a mistake with their crossword clues. They have published TWO Down clues with different numbers.
They have printed:-
23d Cloth Emblem (4) - L - G when it should be 26 Down
and
26d Banner,standard (3) T - Y when it should be 23d

Got the FLAG clue right with 'Banner,standard' but as for the 'Cloth Emblem',
T - Y
I really don't know what this answer is!!!
I guess they won't mind with this clue error mistake as the shaded boxed letters fit correct with the answer TROPHY.
I'm sure they won't mind me sending the crossword in with one clue box missing T - Y
I hope not anyway. :)

Tag! Eh!
That doesn't make sense to be honest.
Reason is that the shaded boxes have a G at the end.
TROPHG
Hmm, unless there's another word you can get out of TROPH_
The 28a clue is Cautious and I have that as WARY
Quite puzzling if you ask me!!!!

I'd go with TROPHY.
Presumably that's all you need to enter- you don't need to submit the grid

I wish the crossword compiler would pull his or her socks up when publishing their crosswords....sigh!
They could as least check the crossword beforehand. Meh!

Imhotep - I have the same as you - Wary - so cant work out what T-Y would be so have gone with TROPHY.
But like factor says you don't have to send the grid, puzzling tho isn't it?

Oh well, let's hope that next week they admit their mistake eh!
