working from home

i work as a dinner lady, which is only for 1 hour a day. i get very bored, so does anyone know of any working from home info. i used to pack emery boards years ago, but not sure if the comapny still do that and the pay wasnt too good. i will try anything but dont want to pay out any money up front.

Do you like ironing? It's a real growth industry - advertise locally and you'll get work very quickly, especially if you can collect and deliver, but that's not esssential.

Lots of firms charge by the bin-bag, which makes them far too expensive - charge by the hour, you'll undercut the competition.

One of my neighbours offers a dog walking service! She charges 5 pounds an hour! Its amazing how many people will pay this. Especially during the winter!

If you don't actually need to earn money why not start a hobby instead.

We have a dog walker and pay �10 per walk and the lady picks him up with 8 other dogs (in her car) and takes them out to a nearby park for 2 hours a day. So she's making about �400 per week plus she looks after animals while their owners are away as well. You will obviously have to like dogs but I'd love to give up my job and do something like that!!

What about voluntary work? Not only do the charity shops always need helpers, but most places have a volunteer bureau to co-ordinate volunteers nad placements. One of the most needed is befrienders, just to drop in on people for a cup of tea and a chat once a week.

There are lots of courses available too @ your local college, often free!

All the above increase your chance of future employment, too, by increasing your experience.

have you considered being a mystery shopper. Pay varies and the number of jobs vary but it can be quite good fun. Jobs I have done include having meals at pubs, pizzas, making telephone calls/walk in enquiries to banks, shop visits etc. You generally need a PC though. A couple of good sites: www.cybershoppers.nop.co.uk and www.retaileyes.co.uk although there are lots more, some with more or less complicated 'recruitment' procedures.
