What is the best (quickest) way to develop your own website without any previous experience?

To pay a company to do it is the quickest way, but be prepared to pay �500 - �1000 for a basic professional web site.

I had one done a few months ago by a good company who are in Kent. I can pass the details on if you are interested?

You can do it yourself, but be prepared for a steep learning curve.

Depends what it is for.

Developing a web site is easy.

Developing a GOOD website is not easy.

If it is for a simple personal site then products like Serif Web Plus are fairly cheap, and provide templates.

In fact you can download Serif Web plus 6.0 (an older version) for free from this Serif site

But if it is for a business website then creating a good site is NOT easy.

I have seen web sites where the person designing it was using a large 19" monitor so they made the web pages huge.

But a lot of people looking at the the web use an 800x600 resolution so you have to allow for this in your web site design.

Also beginners often use bright colours and fancy fonts, which make the web site look awful, and if it is a business site, this can reflect badly on your company.

Also, if you are going to use anything complex on your site, like database back ends, or e-commerce, then this is not easy.

If you are doing a business site, and have no web design experience, then I would do as Herc says, and get someone in to do it.

One final thing.

If you want to see how complex a web site can get, then while viewing any web site select the option "View Source" on your browser.

This shows the HTML language used to create the site, and it can get very complex on some sites.
