Can You Scramble
38 Answers
My OH had scrambled eggs for the first time whilst at a hotel at the weekend. I usually poach them for him. He loved them and started asking how to do them. This is how the conversation went ;-
Me - You just whisk them up and cook them
Him- But do you boil or fry them first ?
Me- (after picking myself up of the floor laughing) Neither, They are raw.
Him- Raw ? You mean Im eating raw eggs ?
Me - No, you crack a raw egg into a pan and cook it gently
Him - Then do you drain the water off ?
Me - (PMSL) What water ?
Him - The water that you cook them in !!
Me - You dont cook them in water. Its just eggs in a pan or dish in the microwave cos they can burn the pan which is why I dont them them
Now come on all you fellas (or women) out there, how many of you can scramble eggs

I'm not keen on cooking and save a few dishes as a special treat to have when eating out. Scrambled eggs are one of them.
Anyone, even a grim cafe, will make a better job of scrambling eggs than me. I love them, but not enough to bother making them myself anymore. The few attempts have resulted in either a dry (pan) or rubbery (microwave) waste of food!

so you have never served him scrambled eggs, how long have you been married may I ask ? they are nice if you add a little single cream when you whisk them up also add salt and coarse pepper at the same time & always turn off the heat just before they are cooked, the heat already in the pan will do the rest, don't overcook they will be hard & "rubbery".
Dee Sa. We have been married nearly 40 years and he never shown any inclination towards scrambles. He only ever asked for them poched or boiled so why would I do them. Ive made them myself many a time for a patient.
