Last night I watched Bones on Sky Two and they used some very impressive looking hologram technology, does such technology exist? It was the one with the little boy who got killed.

Two answers:

1) Yes. There is research allowing the 3d visualisation of things without special glasses. However it is still in the "highly developmental, probably won't see the light of day" stage.

2) No, not as shown on the show. It's just yet more cgi.
