Prompted by a thread about womens make up/ beauty products I would like to ask male ABers how many of you have ever used 'Male Grooming & cosmetic products'?
I will admit to deodorant and very occasionally after shave but nothing else.
Do any of you use stuff like moisturizers and facial scrubs? or more to the point would you admit to using them if you did?
Oh, I did once try to dye my hair as my daughter wanted me to look younger for her wedding. It was a disaster my hair stayed silver grey but my scalp turned pink!
I am 63 in January as I would think age matters in this.

baldric,,, badedas is lovely.
//5 'value razors' for 30p in Tesco last me 6 months//

bloody hell man!!
"i will admit to deodorant" - you make it sound like it's something to be ashamed of!
I buy my sons moisturisers - any for men will do

I have just put some baby oil gel on my own face and it's lovely
Might get them to give that a go
My Dad refused everything except soap and water. We bought him Old Spice one Christmas. He said he would wear it for us. Weeks later he was buying all sorts of men's stuff. He still wore Old Spice though.

humbersloop I have moved on the the £1 shop now a pack of 30 razors for yes £1. That should last me until I collect my state pension January 2015.
My generation I think are far more into grooming. My dad, for instance, (64) uses a roll on deodorant and a splash of aftershave. In his words I am a "Big Puff" because I use several products.
I use a hair thickening shampoo, face scrub, shaving gel, facial moisturiser, deodorant, after shave daily.
This has been my routine since I was about 18. Whether it has made a jot of difference, who knows!!
Coal tar soap

Shampoo - soap again - once you realise that shampoo is the K salt of soap (which is a Na salt) - the rest is then money.

I think old men need some sort of poof-juice to cover up the old-man smell.
The less the dog likes it, the better you are doing.

dont forget to clean your teeth ( if any)

None. I'm a bloke.

In my youth I may have tried the odd aftershave given me as an Xmas present, but other grooming Xmas gifts sit on the shelf for years until slung.

I did once try to hide the grey hair/beard but couldn't be arsed to keep it up for more than a few days. And anyway the ingredients included arsenic ! (Perhaps it was meant for bum hair ?)

Only use medical type products if there is an issue to deal with. If the face is flaking off I may try an ointment or two.
Anti-perspirant, although I don't know why I bother as it doesn't work IMO and deodorant body spray.
I was contemplating buying some beard oil recently, but haven't taken the plunge yet.
I use soap, shower gel, shampoo, nail clippers and a comb, oh and that alum crystal stuff as a deodorant (cheapest bestest ever). Age 68
PP: re your comment about shampoo....I've yet to see one shampoo that has any soap in it....they're all detergent-based, so quite different.
