I can understand why Mrs Sqad was reluctant but if you don't want to leave it to anyone and there's no worries of being given notice then I can see your reasoning. I was just hoping when Mrs Sqad gets sick of you I could move in :-))))
Prudie, you could only move in when Mrs Sqad goes to the UK for shopping, then you'd be out on yer ear :-D

Mr Alba and I had a mortgage, many years into it, he became ill and the insurance refused to pay out. We sold and moved into a bigger rented property in the same area.
When I was made redundant from BC in 1993 Trish and I discussed the options and ended up paying the mortgage off and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made one major advantage being I could afford to take a job that might payless but I found satisfying, with no travelling involved. It was amazing the number of jobs available when you didn't have to find £400 pound a month to pay the mortgage before you start thinking about the rest of the things.
Why are you just mentioning this.........Mrs sqad was sick of me 25 years ago.
Prudie^^^^
I'm not surprised ;o)
A BIL was made redundant and took early retirement a couple of years ago, mortgage free now. If it happens, then it is a good thing as Paddy says.

Sqadlet, your harem on here ain't sick of you xxx :-D
Is that your stethoscope or are you just pleased to see me ?
An Englishman's home is his castle.
An Englishman's tenancy is his hassle!
\\\\Is that your stethoscope or are you just pleased to see me ?\\\

LOL...open your blouse and we can both find out......;-)
Oooh you are a naughty boy Sqad.

We have bought and paid for our house, I only have the council tax to pay, and now Mrask wants to move to a bungalow, which is ok but the ones we can afford are like matchboxes compared to ours. I can't see the logic of paying rent when we are mortgage free.
We rent and I hate it. Our landlord is fab because we never see him and he leaves us alone (and we him). However, when we did have a house (sold it in 2006) our mortgage was ginormous and it was a stress to pay it. It would be my dream for us to have our own house again, it is my biggest regret of us chasing our dream (but I do get to be a stay at home mum now so that's a major plus).
