using my apple i book,don't know where to start(help!please!)

I am going to sound like a complete muppet, I know it.I won an apple i book about a month ago.I haven't a clue how to set up my internet connection on it.I am with pipex, please if there is someone out there who can point me in the right direction I would be extremley grateful, thanks alot, emma

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.if you have broadband, then there is probably a cable coming from your broadband 'modem'. it looks like a large phone cable connection. you just need to find the port on the laptop (on the right, i think), and plug it in. turn the iBook on, and you should have the internet!
if your broadband modem connects with a USB cable (rectangular end, metal, with a little bit of plastic covering half of it), then try just plugging it into a USB port on the side of your iBook (either side). it may work immediately, but if not, you may have to install any software that came from Pipex for your mac.
or, do you have dial-up? (when you connect to the internet without the iBook, do you have to wait a few seconds while it dials up and things, maybe with weird screetching sounds coming from your computer?)
