Central Heating and hot water not working
My husband put sludge remover in the tank, when he switched the heating on the boiler came on for a few mins and went off. He tried the hot water and the same thing happened. He immediately drained the system. Switched the boiler on it went off after a few mins. Today he drained the system filled up with hose pipe 3 times. Boiler was the same, the pump is working. He thinks there is a blockage between the tank and pump, but has no idea of how to fix it.
Be grateful if anyone can help!!

Failing that you have possibly bunged up one of the small control orifices in the boiler. Regardless of anything else the boiler should start up if the 2 port valves are going to the correct position.
Although you think the pump is running, the impellor may not ! Possibly bunged up with crap it has stuck and the shaft is running. Take it apart and flush out, making sure the impellor is correctly on the shaft.
Thanks for all your help. Had to get a plumber in far too cold to mess around.
It turned out to be the pump, although there was air in the system.
Thanks once again,
I'm not touching the central heating again! Oh, just a little note, the plumber told me not to use sludge remover again, but to put a drop of Fairy Washing up liquid in the header tank. Hope this helps for future reference.
