My husband and I own our property jointly ie the whole passes to the other automatically if one of us dies. We have a mortgage with HSBC and also an equity release loan with the same bank. We are in the process of separating. My husband wants to continue to pay the mortgage until it is at a level that I can take on by myself (if is currently �119K). Before that point can I have the house transferred into my sole name as a safeguard and how do I go about it?
