I have read over time that parents can be fined for taking their children out of school and in my area there is no provision for abscense from school. It is all unautherised.

There is also (a bit tounge in cheek) letter for parents to send to the school fineing them for the closure due to industrial action.

My questions are 1. Has anyone ever actually sent one? AND did they get the fine paid by the school?

They'd probably use the fact that teachers aren't paid for a strike day, well, I assume not? I know in other bits of the public sector they aren't paid for the day if they strike. I don't strike but others who do aren't paid.

?

I don't particulary care that the teachers don't get paid. In fact I would mind if they did.

I am talking about parents sending the school a fine for not being open to actually do their job of teaching the children :)
It's a legal requirement for children to be at school, not sure if the same requirement is for schools to be open to teach, if not I guess they would not be in any violation and therefore wouldn't be susceptible for a fine?
