How can someone die Instantly

People have been revived after 3 min. with no heart beat. So how can someone die Instantly? I understand if there shot in the head with a shotgun yea instent death. But if someone is shot in the Heart with a shotgun, your still alive for at least 3 min. Technically. Right?

depends on the amount of trauma to the body, a good gunshot to the head - you would be dead before you hit the floor, due to the damage to the brain etc etc.

Depending how good a shot to the heart was, would kill you pretty quickly. Remember a shot to the head means the partial removal of the brain mening that all senses would cease and there's you difference. With a shot to the heart you would die from loss of blood or a heart attack due to the trauma, both of which could mean a quick death but not instant. all boils down to tissue and arterial damage and where it is on the body.

Wrong, A shotgun fired directly at the heart from close range would liquidize the heart causing immediate death.

Being shot in the head with a shotgun could be survivable (though I would not like to try it) A shotgun cartridge expels hundreds of small pelets, a lot if not all of these could glance off the skull and not penatrate the brain.

i beg to differ. even if the heart was to be blitzed, you would die and lose your senses much slower than having you brains blown out. Once the brain shuts down its god night vienna to all senses and muscle usage.

Depends if you mean death occurs when the heart stops or the brain stops.
IIt has been proved that the brain remains active and will control the ability to see and hear for up to eight seconds after the head has been severed from the body. The heart stiops fairly quickly due to the sudden drop in pressure.

I cant remember the name its spinal someting, anyway its something to do with a part at the base of your neck and meeting the spine but when that shows no response it mesns that your brain is dead. We have many ways of keeping the body alve thrieugh medical aids but once this stops responding nothing else can be done so I dont really know whether the injury or bullet etc would have to sever that in order to die instantly?
