When bying your clothes etc, do you ever think about the person stitching, making them? I understand we can not help the world but would you decline from bying if you realy knew the conditions they work in?

Nope, I don't consider any of that and I dare say that even if I did I would still buy what I wanted.

I don't because I don't have the faintest idea who makes anything I buy. But I wouldn't be averse to any independent certification scheme that guaranteed that people who made something were properly treated, and I'd pay extra for such items.

Some of the factories where people work producing cheapish clothes for us are deathtraps. Decent safety standards for the workers don't seem too much to ask for.

How can we be responsible for buildings in foreign lands. Their Gov would soon complain if we intervened in their infrastructure

A company like Primark, for example, might say to their supplier In Bangladesh that unless the factory conditions meet certain standards they won't be buying any more goods from them.
