13 Year Ok Cashiers Cheque
My dad has found a cashiers cheque dated in July 2000 for £670 from abbey. Can he legally ask abbey to issue a new cheque or honour the out of date cheque? It was a bit cheeky as the cheque was drape liked to the back of a letter so it was difficult to spot it so its not entirely my dads fault (he was probably drunk when he opened the letter!)

However it's unlikely that Santander would risk the adverse publicity that might come from a refusal to pay out, so they'd almost certainly honour the cheque. (It's possible that they might make some form of 'administration charge', cancelling out any interest due, but it's definitely worth pursuing).
