Completely not funny ~ puerile jokes relying on "funny" accents and stereotype Asian characters.

Hc, sorry, I had forgotten I posted on this subject last week.
A bit slapstick for me, but a young muslim lady I work with loves it, says her family (east london) do too.

But I still think it's not funny, nearly as rubbish as Count Arthur Strong!
It is a funny, heart-warming sitcom about family life. A dad who wants to be looked up to, a sensible wife who loves him faults and all, an outrageous daughter who is the apple of her daddy's eye, a sensible daughter with dopey fiancé, Mr Khan's mother in law who drives him batty...

Don't see a racial stereotype there. It is a family who happen to be British Muslim. In the same way as Bread is a working class English family - as is The Royle Family, Mrs Brown's Boys is an Irish family, My Family is a middle class English family, Rab C Nesbitt is a Scottish family, Rev is about an English Christian vicar and his family.

They all have one thing in common. They are sitcoms about family life. If you want to see racial stereotypes try watching it through new eyes.
Anil Gupta is one of the two writers of this show. He also wrote Goodness Gracious Me, The Khumars at No. 42 and The Office.

hc, my complaint is not that is about an Asian family. I love Mrs Brown's Boys, Father Ted etc. I just don't find it funny.
Embarrassing

He wrote for The Office and was a named producer of the show.

SatinPeter, how did you find AnswerBank? That's a question I posted yesterday and I'd like to know how you found us today.

Anil Gupta was involved in the production of "The Office" but I don't think he wrote any of it.
