It is becoming racist because every day we read in the papers of black and Asian (and some Romanion and Albanian) people commiting crimes.
Shooting policemen, drug smuggling, people smuggling, credit card crime, honour killings, suicide bombers, the list goes on.
(and before someone says "white people commit crimes to" well yes they do, but the number of crimes far outweigh the number of immigrants, and some of the type of crimes are new to the UK as well such as people smuggling and honour killings.
If you do not believe me search in Google or on the BBC web site for "Asylum seeker jailed" or "illegal immigrant jailed" and see what I mean.
I think many people are frightened of losing their traditional sense of identity, but I would argue the British are a tolerant people, generally.
Sadly, we do have an irresponsible press that encourage conflict between the various groups within our society because it sells papers and this encourages people to worry unnecessarily.
You rarely see headlines that describe hooligans as 'White Thugs', sex offenders as ' White Paedophiles', or financial criminals as, 'Middle Class White Tax Evader', but they are only too willing to print 'Albanian Sex Smugglers' or 'Black on Black Gun Crime'.
Having lived in France and the USA, I think the British can be proud of their ability to mix freely with other cultures without becoming overly paranoid about their place in the world.
I don't consider someone's ethnicity, colour etc as offensive - and therefore something to be 'tolerated'.
Bad behaviour - by anybody regardless of their background - that is intolerable.
It speaks volumes about a person who says 'I'm tolerant' -
those are the people I don't tolerate.
