I've just been for a facial and massage, the therapists wore gloves for both treatments. They assured me it had nothing to do with my psoriasis.
I am now having a calming glass of wine a praying to the god of a thousand boils :-(

I had to have steroids orally and cream (put on 2 stone) and UV treatment thrice weekly - YAY, sunbeds on the NHS. The spots eventually disappeared after about a year and I've had no recurrence. Although I am ever so slightly sensitive, the slightest blemish and I go a bit loopy. It was awful. It ruined my wedding day. I had a backless sleeveless dress, which had to be altered to cover up the fact I was covered in hideous spots and smacked on some weight.
It took a long time to be diagnosed cos my GP was insistent it was chicken pox. It took me throwing a massive hissy fit for him to refer me to a dermatolagist. It was thought, at the time, that my PLC was a reaction to my then boyfriend having shingles. Other than that it was diagnosed as "idiopathic" - ie we have no fekkin idea.
It was an awful time. I have immense sympathy with your daughter. it is so rare that people just dont "get it". Please reassure her, it WILL go away just as quickly as it came.

Thank you so much, Barmaid, It hit her at University, our doctor diagnosed it straight away as guttate, she was a walking snowstorm! She still has NHS sun beds but has to let it get really bad again before they give her the sunbed treatment again and she tries to keep it under control, GP said related to a bad throat infection. I'll tell her of your experience xx

sorry to hear about this eccles. do hope you feel better soon.
i suffer from eczema and sometimes feel i have to cancel hair appointments even though the people washing hair wear gloves (for their benefit using chemicals and water most of the day). I hate it on my hands and face as it always seems to get so much attention.
i did have a facial once but skin was so aggravated, i wa assured the products were hy-allogenic. have to add i have never dared to have a massage. I
