This question was asked a few weeks ago, (I assume that it's part of a quiz) by Maninblack, and failed to produce an answer. I've had another search since then and still can't find anything.
I'm intrigued and so I hope that someone can produce an answer this time round. Here's a link to last time's non-answer.

I'm not sure whether he acquired it on Goodwin Sands, but Walpole's favourite cat was one called Selima. There is a well-known painting of it balanced on the edge of a goldfish-bowl, into which it apparently fell and drowned!

I know that the cat is one of five.....Fatima, Patapan, Selima, Zara, and Harold....just not sure which one:-((
This is a poem to Selima - the cat Quizmonster mentioned, called "Ode on the Death of a Favourite Cat Drowned in a Tub of Goldfishes" written by Thomas Gray.

He also had another cat called Fatima - it's origins are unknown, I'm afraid.

According to the British Sporting Art Trust's website, Walpole's Patapan was a dog! Click http://www.bsat.co.uk/history.html and look at the paragraph immediately under the first picture.

If that is the case - and I confess I do not know either way, though they sound like an authoritative body - then at least I may have narrowed the search a little for you!
