How to cancel an O2 contract?
11 Answers
Hello, I've had my o2 contract for over 2yrs now, as I couldn't find a deal until now. How do I now cancel my contract? Does the 30day notice still apply as I have gone way over my original 12mth contract?
Thanks

We called to cancel a contract and they had the nerve to try and suggest that because it hadnt been cancelled when the last 12 months were up that a new contract had started and we had 10 months to go.
They got a few choice words from us and suddenly realised that they had made a mistake. I wonder how many people believe such stuff and stay with contracts.

redcrx is right.
My O2 contract was due to run out in March, I phoned up and explained that I wanted a better deal or I'd no longer stay with them, when they got funny saying they couldn't offer anything better I asked how much notice they needed or if the contract would be cancelled as I wasn't going to renew, they said it ran on and would only be cancelled if I spoke to their 'department' that deals with cancellations. Although it's bad it also stated in my renewal contract (needless to say they gave me what I wanted!) that my contract will automatically renew itself at the end of term unless I contacted them to cancel it.
Good luck.

Thanks guys! I phones O2 this afternoon, and spoke to a very nice lady. She asked the usual questions...why I was cancelling, the deals they could offer me blah blah. But I made it clear what I wanted and she said my contract would be complete on June 14th. I guess I will have to wait and see whether they stick to their word!
i am with carphone warehouse and o2. i had to phone 0870 111 7200. press the options to get through to a human eventually. they ask you all the stuff about leaving, etc. and talk rubbish about matching your new contract. you will need a disconnection reference number from them and an address to write your cancellation notice to.
