thought I would share this :-
ALZHEIMERS REQUEST
Do not ask me to remember
don't try to make me understand
Let me rest and know your with me
kiss my cheek and understand

I'm confused beyond your concept
I'm sad and sick and lost
All I know is that I need you
to be with me at all cost

Do not loose your patience with me
do not curse or scold or cry
I cant help the way I'm acting
I cant be different though I try

Just remember that I need you
that the best of me is gone
Please don't fail to stand beside me
love me till my life is gone.

Oh Dee the tears have started, but so beautiful and true.
That's very moving - one to hang onto for the poor souls caring for a loved one with this dreadful condition.
Oh how sad that is.
My dearest hubby has this dreadful disease, I have printed this off to remind me to make the most of the precious time with him, and try to be patient ALL the time.
How very true and accurate these words are...as ft carer to FIL before he passed ..I can validate these poignant words...ferlew I know exactly what you are going through...it's very hard work and patience can be at a premium....refer to these words when you reach that point of despair.....
This is the third time for me MM, first was my lovely MIL, 7 years ago my beautiful mum suffered it, hubby has been diagnosed for some 4 years now, very sad.
I have just printed it out and will give it to the husband of my friend K who is suffering from it when next I see him. Thanks for that - the words incorporate the lot. Conne xxx

it touched my heart too, how difficult it must be to care for loved ones who are affected, you people are saints.
very true. brings back sad memories of mum and mum in law
My biggest fear in life is that it should happen to me - I can't bear the thought of giving my family such a burden.
Dee

This has opened my eyes a little as I really struggle with my gran and this condition. I shall be keeping this in mind.

Thank you :)
