What is the difference between a doctor and aPysician, my doctor has said he will refer me to a Phsician but until now I thought they were the same thing ?.

They are the same. At least in the sense people normally use. Actually a physician is a doctor of medecine, as it is possible to be a doctor of many things. Are you sure you heard him correctly? Perhaps he said Physio? (as in physiotherapist)
