Care For The Elderly
9 Answers

This is not just a job but as there are not many qualifications required many do it with no compassion whatsoever, they should always think that who they are caring for may be their own loved ones and tend to their needs as if they were.
Carers need to be as strong as an ox, as gentle as a lamb, have a very thick skin, be compassionate, have a strong stomach and the patience of a saint.
All for minimum wage. Home helps and home carers have to do everything in triple quick time because of the measly amount of time allocated to one person.
I couldn't do it. After a visit to a nursing home I'm ready to scream in the hillside.

I sympathise with the elderly who have no family and are therefore dependent on outside care - but, have told 'my two' that as I carried them both for nine months under very difficult circumstances (and.....one of them three weeks over her due date in what is termed suicide month in Africa) plus as I do not interfer with their lives' unless asked..... I expect them to make a plan when I start dribbling. They have been warned.
