Loose Stool... Help Appreciated.
12 Answers
Ive tried booking into my doctors today but they're one of those useless ones who never have anything available!
Basically, I began having loose stools while I was pregnant with my now 7 month old and still get them every day. Occasionally, I have a perfectly normal stool. I don't have any bloating at all, I do have gas. And sometimes its incredibly smelly.. as its sometimes described as smelling like battery acid! I don't recall having blood in my stool at all, but then again I am obviously female and that could be mistaken for a menstrual cycle which has been all over the place since my babies birth.
Any suggestions?
Seriously answers only please.

So this is a fairly long standing problem.... 10 months at least, so it is unlikely that we are dealing with any life threatening condition. The commonest thing that comes to mind is IBS, but your doctor will examine you and probably refer you to a Gastro- Enterologist for tests.

Mine is emergencies only. I made the mistake of googling this and it sort of terrified me.. which is why I put this on here with just my symptoms! I never really thought about speaking to my health visitor. As I thought if it was ibs or something more serious she couldnt help.. but I may have to get in touch if my doctors surgery continue to mess me around...
You need to persevere with a gp appointment. If you've only been trying by phone go to the surgery in person. If the receptionist is awkward ask to speak to someone privately and tell them you'd really like an appointment within the next few days. It's surprising what they can come up with when you're face to face. Good luck.
How do you mean, "mess you around"? Most surgeries have a process for booking appointments - I don't see that as messing you around, and it's not an emergency. I hope this doesn't sound unsympathetic but I work a lot with GP practices and I know the pressures they are under - you need to persist! (and don't google, you'll only worry yourself, hopefully unnecessarily!)
