Time and date on your pc correct?
Question Author
Yes it is
All so often this problem is because the date and time are incorrect. It could particularly have been such today because of clocks having gone back an hour.

Have you clicked to see what More information could be forthcoming to the message which you received.?

If you are certain a website's address is correct and it is one which you know can be trusted, there is unlikely to be any harm by clicking 'Continue to this website'. Consequently, I think it would be alright to Continue to the Lycos E/mail site. That way you might be able to E/mail Lycos and ask questions of the organisation.:-

Hi Alex, the email address that is advertised is not any use, [email protected], but my time and date are correct
Sorry tamaris...I am lost as what to suggest next. Have you closed down your comp and restarted.?

What Browser are you using? What Operating System do you have...Windows Vista; W 7 or whatever.?

There must be an answer to your problem.
I had the same thing this morning although the site they were accusing was AB. I had to remove malware and force close my laptop twice
Psybbo....I think you may have come-up with an answer to the problem.

tamaris.... Have you given your comp a run-through with an Anti Virus programme. It could well be that you have picked-up a nasty; in which case you will need to clear it.

Please respond further on this matter with a view to myself, or better still, a more knowledgeable ABer giving some additional technical advise.

Hi everyone, I went into 'not recommended' above in my post as I could not get through to any of the helplines. It came up as make sure the https/.......... was typed in properly. I typed it all in again, I usually just have it on the tool bar, and low and behold I am back into my site.I think there has been a problem at source as I have been with Lycos since about 2005 and this has never happened before.
I'm getting the same problem with Google Chrome since Saturday. I ignore the warning message and "proceed anyway". I do see my e-mails and can send normally, except the https is crossed out in red in the address bar. Tried help to report the problem and get an "unhandled exception error". Looks like their site is either broken or has been hacked.
