Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - Tips Tpo Deal With It
8 Answers
I get a kind of tingly numbness in my right arm whenever i use any kind of power tool, or sometimes do anything repetitive - such as scrubbing something etc - doc said its CTS
trouble is whenever i raise my hand above my elbow the arm begins to tingle and will eventually go completely numb - so i have to keep lowering it - very annoying as you can imagine.
it eventually calms down and stops happening, assuming i stop douing whatver it was that set it off - it can last for weeks though
has anyone any tips to stop this effect? either as a preventative to it happening at all, or to hurry up and stop this lasting effect of it.
thanks

The most awful throbbing and pressure in the fingers, so bad at times I wanted to chop the ends off to the release the pressure. I wore a brace on my right hand most of the time with a metal support on the inside.

sqad - ... hmmm its entirely possible thats what she said! - she is asian and has quite an accent so its possible she said cubital not carpal, and i just 'heard' carpal - since i'm familiar with the phrase and i've never heard of the other one - and with the 'tunnel syndrome' on the end ...

there is no proper pain, more just a not very nice feeling and its annoying - especially when i know i have to go an do something that involves having my hand raised - like paint or makeup or something - i have to keep lowering my arm and shaking it.
just looked at someone being tested on youtube and she had pain when pressed and tapped.
it is not 'unbearable' to live with exactly as it only happens after i do things such as mentioned in the OP, so can go a long time with no issues at all - but i also have hypermobility so have already have a lot of bone issues
i also have hyperostosis of the skull.
do i need to try to get it sorted now then?
could just leaving it make it get worse an worse and become a real problem?
rather take preventative measures if need be
thanks
