Like many others my electricity has been off since yesterday morning. My aged mother lives next door so she also has no power.

We live in a smallish village and I came home early last night to find that my lodgers (from the local college) had gone to my mum's with candles, my neighbours had been popping in and out of hers with cups of tea and hot soup for her tea.

We sat there last night, roaring fire and snoozing dogs for warmth, candles and jack o'lanterns for light playing quiz board games with the lodgers.

What a lovely evening and how nice it is to know that there are good people out there.

Can't say I'm looking forward to more nights of this (leccy still off) but compared to what some people have lost I can hardly complain.

Anyway - just thought I would share with you how lovely my neighbours and lodgers are...

Having good neighbours is like finding good friends.
Nice to live with good neighbours isn't it, and though we wouldn't want it all the time evenings like yours are memorable.....x
