Motorbike Hire in the USA

I have toured the USA many times by car with family and friends but I would like to do a week alone on a motorcycle. Can I get a small Harley or similer without a full Motorbike Licence in the USA. I am no stranger to motorbikes, I just never took the test here and cannot be bothered to try to be honest..

What a great trip - please rent a Harley - there are many rental outlets across the US. I've found a basic link for you:

You will have to have a valid motorcycle license though - if the test is not too difficult I would do it! Too bad you can't just take the test in the States, but hey!

I used www.eaglerider.com (HD approved) in San Francisco, they have outlets across the States.

Absoloutely first rate, and the trip was my best ever holiday. However, you won't find ANYONE who will hire you a bike as a rider without a valid licence, its just not worth the aggro to them.

Eaglerider say "All drivers must be 21 years or older, and must posses a valid drivers license that qualifies him/her to operate a motorcycle in the country of origin. (Endorsement). International license are on valid in combination of the issuing country. We accept all driver licenses issued by any country as long it is endorsed for motorcycle."

Pass your bike test over here and get on a plane, you'll never regret it - I'd say its very worth being bothered to take your test here ;-))

Just a quick answer, there arn't any "small Harleys"

Beg to differ....I'd say the 883 Sportster was "small", compared to an Electraglide!!

Of coures it is Steve but I would,nt call an 833 small compared to a 125cc bike!

And he is talking about getting a small bike as he only has a provisional licence.
