Prompted by mallyh's thread on retiring, what are your favourite money saving tips?
My best one is to use the comparison websites to find the best deals but DO NOT buy from them. Once you have made your selection, go to the website of the company you have chosen and buy through them. I saved another £30 on my car insurance by doing this.
Shop online. The last time I did a normal shop in store I spent £35 more than I would normally do (no impulse buys). I do a list and stick to it and then alter it to try and get 10% off the total price (I have far too much time on my hands).
Peter, if you do that, the person who receives your letter has to pay the postage. I know this,as someone sent me a personal letter using a company's postage paid envelope.
