Did you ever get your fingers, or something else, caught in an automatic mangle?

Nooooo! Itchy, smelly buttons, confining, struggle to get into and out. No male expected to wear something so awful.
Don't blame you for losing a few then!
I loved the little rubber buttons. I loved my little liberty bodice. So snuggly.
Why did you find them confining, Daisy. They were just little vests with buttons up the front. Mine weren't smelly. They smelt of Oxydol.
Supposed to be an alternative to a corset. So why force them on prepubescent girls?
Perhaps they were a size too small? Hated them with a vengeance.
Agonising when upper half started developing!
Not in an automatic mangle, it was a hand operated one,
Sis and i used to feed sheets of paper and dolls clothes though it, my finger got caught in it and I had the most spectacular blood blister.
My poor mum did when I was about 12. Never forgot it.
Liberty Bodices were for warmth not corsetry and the rubber buttons were so they would not break in the mangle.

A few mangle related incidents in our house too, thankfully not an automatic one so little harm done.
In this case I must disagree with Wiki, they may have evolved from a corset but they wer fleecy and we only wore them in winter.
