Can A Council Tenant---
have a water meter fitted?
My friend and her husband have rented a council property for about 20 years, the family have all left home now, and she is looking how to save money on house expenses.
Water bills have always been paid directly to the water authority by themselves. Both work f.t.
Many thanks.

Make sure you tell the council as soon as the meter is in use so that they cancel the water rates charge on your rent, the council need to see to confirmation letter from the water company as proof of the meter fitting to know the date to cancel the water rates payments.
