One night the female half of a couple of regulars was in the pub with another man (also half of a couple known to us) and her husband turned up. She drove off and the spurned husband asked if anyone could give him a lift. We were quiet that night and when he said that he would pay, I volunteered my services. This guy`s wife had driven off in their Merc and I gave chase in my little red Ford Escort 1100. It was a case of "Follow that car". She did a u turn and ended up back at the pub where they had a blazing row. She dashed out of the pub, followed by the husband. I only just managed to grab my £5 fee in time. I could write a book about the goings-on in that place.
Oh phones me every single lunchtime, always has done. It stems from 1996 when my lung collapsed when I was home alone and I nearly died, he has a compulsion now to make sure it hasn't happened again. :), he starts work at 7am, leaves at 4.30pm home by 5pm. He really couldn't possibly find time even if he wanted to.
