So Russia will be able to tell which Muslim blew themselves to smithereens. What good is that?
Surely these actions will provoke the hard line muslims and at best alienate the moderates and since it wont actually stop the explosion and its potentially devastating results, just what is the point?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for protecting the public from nutters whereever and whatever they are, but I just cant see this will do that.

This country managed to prevent any terrorism taking place at our Olympics, why should Russia be different?
What did amuse me however was this:
/// Earlier this month security forces shut down two madrassas in Novosasitli, photographing students and taking their fingerprints. ///
/// "I can't describe how terrified the girls were, how many tears were shed," said Abdurakhim Magomedov, a Salafi preacher. ///
Why were the girls 'so terrified', was it the closure of the madrassas, or the act of being photographed and fingerprinted?

Is it because we have ports and airports as choke points and they have a land border? A very long one?
Americans don't have much success keeping Mexicans out (hence some of them whinge about Mexicans every so often) so I don't see why Russia should do any better. Actual jeopardy of life and limb, for the Russians, so more at stake for them.
How short is everyone's memory, by the way? I happened across something the other day and I'd forgotten just how many hostages died in the theatre siege.
