Poppies --- Left Or Right ?

A few days back I bought my annual poppy which of course I will wear with pride,anyway, I pinned it on my coat on the right-hand side. Since yesterday, on TV I have noticed all the presenters and celebs etc; are wearing it on the LEFT hand-side. Is there a special reason for this?any special significance? or is it just coincidence? does it matter? Its the thought that counts eh?

Men with suits wear on the left simply because there is a button hole on the left lapel. But I don't wear a suit so will pin it wear I want, with pride!

Does it mean if you don't wear it "correctly" it doesn't mean as much.....I think not!

I wear mine mostly on the left as it is nearest the heart, but on an odd occasion when a pin is not forthcoming I have attached mine to my hat as its knitted it attaches easily. Personally I think the whole point is that you actually wear a poppy, which side is up to the wearer.

Left is the general rule, with the poppy leaf pointing to the critical 11 o'clock. I was dismayed to see one of the Energy guys on TV the other day, speaking to the parliamentary committee, with his leaf at 6 o'clock. Someone should have dressed him better.

It used to be ladies on the right , men on the left as already mentioned about the lapel hole (suit jackets), however as long as it is worn with pride just do what you want.

If you're right handed, it's easier to fix it on the left. If you're left handed, it's easier to fix it on the right. Up to you.
