I have two letters from grandfather to my grandmother sent from the trenches. I also have an account of how my great aunt was informed of her husband's death on the Lusitania.
I wondered if anyone would be interested in seeing copies if they are compiling data. On the bbc, they have asked for local info from Devon, but my grandad was in a Canadian branch if the army (he was left there when war broke out as he worked on the transatlantic liners) but he and my great uncle were from Liverpool. Perhaps someone could let me know if that area is doing anything.

Thanks again jno. I emailed Marc on the Canadian site, so will contact the Liverpool site as well. I also had a great uncle who was killed in France. He was a stretcher bearer who died of wounds and is buried in Etaples.
