Blood Test Results..
14 Answers
I must be getting on peoples nerves with my paranoid self!. Im so sorry.. I had my blood taken on tuesday. Just wondering.. although the doctors ive spoken to dont believe it to be anything sinister. I have had other things develop since my doc trip on monday. My eye sight although needed testing soon seems to have worsened some more etc.. and my joints keep cracking..
But if it was something more sinister, would the doctors contact me as soon as my results were back? Or do they wait until you contact them? Also.. how long do blood tests usually take? I got told my coeliac test takes a little longer and to ring on tuesday for that..
Im hoping if I dont get a phone call tomorrow (friday) I can quit stressing and enjoy my weekend!
Once again.. im so sorry!

Also how they are received can make a difference, e.g. electronically or otherwise. Simple bloods (FBC etc...) tend to be pretty quick but some tests aren't quite so quick and simple.
If it was something really urgent then I'm sure they would contact you, I've had my GP ring me before now. Other times it's just marked abnormal for me to make a phone appointment when I ring for results, other times I get a letter through (though I have bloods done a lot).
Stress will not help and can cause all kinds of things so try and relax and put your mind to something else as if you keep looking you may start noticing all kinds of things which are only really noticeable as you are looking.

I thought it was usually 2-3 days.. but I was just curious.. I know urgent are usually within 48 hours.. and with them not believing it to be sinister. I would imagine im on the slower list. They said coeliac takes longer and to ring on tues..so I would imagine friday at the latest for anything else? As I assume blood analyst's dont work weekends unlessnits considered urgent??
How old are you? Only ask because my joints crack all the time - arthritis due to aging, and my eyesight gets worse all the time. I have recently had to start to borrow books from the large print aisle in the library. Cannot kid myself any longer that I am not getting old. All aspects of aging and nothing you can do about it. I think you would soon hear if there is anything drastic wrong.
