I do- but I only do it for a laugh.I didnt think you could so I just took advantage of a wee anomoly.I must admit I did give myself a few 3 stars on Saturday but I was not in control of my keyboard:)

I would think it was obvious to anyone that it was just a joke if people did this - the context of the thread usually gives it away.

I would just report the offenders or put an AB Suggs in.

I personally would post it on AB Suggs because people shoudlnt really have the ability to rate their own answer.I havent noticed it until recently and to be fair I think I am ther only eejit I have noticed abusing it.

In fairness though I would never use it on a serious subject.

I dont think it devalues other peoples replies and I think most people would know it was done (as in my case) as a joke:)

Its extremely childish but I did it for a laugh more because I was having a carry on with people who were on.There was no malice intended - in fact I cant see how there could be.Cant answer for others tho!!

I have posted in AB Suggs however because its something I've just noticed - people might get upset about it.

I dont think anyone who did it was meaning to be arrogant or anything - it was just lighthearted:)

Ohhhhh!! I have always wondered what the star rating was! Thanks for confirming that, Drisgirl. Someone once gave me a three star rating and I felt quite chuffed! Like getting an A at school...
