1 Answers
I am at the second stage of my divorce finances I have just found out that my ex husband lied on his form E. He also did not attend the second hearing.
Do I need to inform the court that he has lied on the form I do have proof of this fact or do I keep quiet.

If you think his lies might make a substantial difference to the financial settlement for you and/or any children you may have, and if you think you really do have cast-iron proof which will convince a judge, you may claim that the settlement should be adjusted. If you think the lie is so big that it might throw all his other evidence into doubt, you should mention it.
However, I know of one husband who lied about the existence of the second-biggest asset of the marriage ( after the house) and when found out, he was just rapped on the knuckles and told to beg the court's indulgence. There was no penalty at all.
