I won't go to our church service, but I'll join the village at the war memorial at 11am.

I won't be going to church but like you I go to a village war memorial every year with my father in law (ex Green Howards)
We will be travelling, me taking the grandchildren home, but will stop at 11:00 and observe 2 minutes silence.
Like you and Mrs O we don't go to church but try to get to the local Memorial.
I'll be going, as always.I tape the Cenotaph ceremony and watch it later.
I will be watching the service at the Cenotaph on TV and cry when Nimrod is played - We had this played at my dads funeral as he spent many years in service.
We have both morning and evening services at our church. My husband is leading the service this evening and will remember in open prayer all the brave soldiers who gave their lives for our country.
Don't have them here, but will observe a silence at 12.oo (11am in Britain!)
My brother and I have just returned from the local Remembrance service, after which we had a couple of drinks with old comrades.
A very good turnout too it has to be said. Just a shame there's always someone who forgets to put their phone on silent when there's going to be 2 minutes silence!
I've just come in from attending our local memorial service. A huge turnout, as there is every year. It's nice to see parents bringing their children along to join in the service and pay their respects.
I dont usually attend to be honest, however I have great respect for all of our military, living, and dead. I will never forget them either.
I prefer TV coverage To screaming Bored kids In church
We always watch it on the sky news, and never go to any church, but maybe would attend a memorial iif there was one nearby.
I didn't hear any children screaming today.

What saw, however, were lots of children and young people dressed in their various uniforms: girls and boys brigade, guides, brownies, scouts, cubs army and sea cadets, bands and pennant bearers. All of them, paying their respects and carrying on a tradition. I loved it.
Tilly2, I agree, I used to love going but the last few years I have been working as I have today, it really makes you proud to be British to see so many groups and causes be represented.
Same here, ratter.
