Any Idea?

Me again! (with the poor grammar). I am wanting to state at the very end of the conclusion that the most important thing in nursing is keeping our patients safe. But in a nice academic eye catching way.

Quote your Nursing Code of Conduct:

Principle C states: "Nurses and nursing staff manage risk, are vigilant about risk, and help to keep everyone safe in the places they receive health care" (RCN 2010b, Principle C).

well..... work it in to the essay somewhere, it's a good reference, then in the conclusion say something like

Patient safety should be at the core of all clinical care.

(I wouldn't confine it just to nursing, the medics and other professions have the samr duty of care, too!)

It is over 40 years since my Nurse Training (1965-1968) but I remember my P.T.S. being amazed and humbled to find that the most important person in the hospital was NOT the Matron but the Patient !! In fact I used that statement when I wrote my Unit's Mission Document The Nurse Education dept. contacted me to ask if they could use it, hope this helps.

Megfitz - I agree - we are all so busy sometimes with the governance and the box-ticking, it appears to be overlooked that if there were no patients, there would be no need for the staff.....
