Can Sms Text Messages Be Sent Via 4G?

We are experiencing acute 3G network problems in our area DA144JU with Vodafone and can't send or receive SMS text messages. Can anyone tell me please if upgrading to 4g will improve the situation?

I don't know but suspect not. Whatever the issue is it will be a temporary one that is being sorted. Probably affecting the same kit that sends SMS regardless what air interface you use.

Yes, I've seen that on the Vodafone website and I have spoken to them several times and they tell me the same thing but no details or indication as to how long it will take to sort out. As my contract is about to expire, I am seriously considering another network. I don't want to leave Vodafone, hence my question about 4G but if it isn't sorted quickly I will have no choice.
