Post-Op Macular Hole
5 Answers
I've had a vitrectomy for a macular hole and the good news is that, at the 3-week check-up, the hole has closed (and without my having to lie on my stomach for 7 days - I think they've realised that this isn't necessary !!!).
I still, however, have a black but see-through "bubble" floating about in front of my eye which is infuriating because, without that, I can see well enough to drive. The doctor said it would be gone "within a day or two" but it's now 6 days and it's starting to worry me. Before I ring the hospital, can anyone give me some advice from their real experience rather than the doctor's throaway remark?
